About Us
Alyssa’s Story: The Kind Hearts Project
At just 12 years old, Alyssa has learned the power of kindness through her own life experiences. Diagnosed at the age of 3 with Chiari Malformation—a condition that affects the brain and spine and impacts only 1 in 1,000 people in the U.S.—she has faced unique challenges, including chronic headaches and an increased risk of stroke. Despite these difficulties, Alyssa has been lifted by the support of her family, friends, and community, who have shown her how meaningful a kind word or thoughtful gesture can be.
Inspired by these acts of compassion, Alyssa created “The Kind Hearts Project” to encourage others to spread kindness, especially to those facing challenges. For Alyssa, kindness isn’t just about big gestures—it’s about showing compassion and creating connections that make people feel valued and loved.
Her goal is simple but powerful: to remind everyone that no matter how small an act of kindness may seem, it has the potential to change someone’s day—or even their life. Through school programs, community events, and partnerships with organizations like Student Santas & The Great Kindness Challenge, Alyssa is turning her vision of a kinder world into reality.
Alyssa’s journey proves that you don’t have to wait to make a difference—you just have to start.

Kindness isn't just nice - it's powerful!
